The Latest AS Roma News
Following Antonio Conte's rejection of Roma, Maurizio Sarri has also ruled himself out of the running to become the club's next head coach.
Conte revealed earlier this week that he would not be joining Roma in the summer, with the former Italy coach not deeming the project to be competitive enough at this moment in time. After Conte's withdrawal from the race to become the next Roma boss, attentions quickly turned to Chelsea's Maurizio Sarri. However, the former Napoli manager appears to have kept his job safe having guided the Blues to next season's Champions League, and has confirmed he would like to stay in England. "As I said in every press conference, I want to stay here," he announced ahead of Chelsea's clash with Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday. "I like English football very much, the atmosphere in the stadiums, and so if I can, I want to stay here. My target is to stay in English football at the moment." Sarri hinted that even if he is dismissed by Chelsea, Roma will not be on his mind. "I can try with another English club, I don't know," he laughed. Want more Roma news on your timeline?
