The Latest AS Roma News
Qatar Airways have been confirmed as AS Roma’s new shirt sponsors.
The partnership between the two companies means the airline’s logo will adorn the front of Roma shirts until the 2020/21 season. Roma had been without a shirt sponsor since 2013, when Wind’s deal expired. Charity Roma Cares was displayed on the front of the shirts for the 2013-14 season, but the space has been blank since. This is the latest of many new sponsorship announcements from the club in the past few months, which will benefit the club’s finances in a hugely positive way. The new shirt with Qatar Airways’ logo will be worn for the first time against Liverpool tomorrow evening.

19-year-old left back Luca Pellegrini has signed a new four-year deal with Roma.
His new contract will see him stay with the club until 2022. Pellegrini's old deal had been due to expire at the end of this season. The defender, who is represented by agent Mino Raiola, wears the number three shirt for Roma, but is yet to make his senior debut, having picked up a ligament injury in pre-season. He has been with the club since 2011, when he joined the academy. He is also an Italy under-19 international. He is not related to current Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini, but will be hoping to emulate his namesake by breaking into the first team in the future. The draw for the Champions League semi finals has put Roma up against Liverpool.
Roma will travel to England for the first leg on 24th April, before hosting the Reds at the Stadio Olimpico on 1st May. The tie is a repeat of the 1984 European Cup final, where Nils Liedholm's Roma lost on penalties after a 1-1 draw. It will mark a return to Rome for Mohamed Salah, the ex-Roma winger who has been prolific in his debut Liverpool season. The winners will face either Bayern Munich or Real Madrid in the final in Kyiv. Giallorossi Yorkshire has today set up a new Twitter profile to share additional content about AS Roma.
It is exactly one year to the day since the website was launched, and the new Twitter account - @RomaYorkshire - is the first item in a day of celebrations on the blog. Throughout the day, the website will be updated with a wide range of content to acknowledge its first anniversary. Have a look at the new Twitter profile here, and don't forget to Follow it! |
