Roma have signed young defender William Bianda from Lens.
The 18-year-old signs for €6m, with the fee possibly rising to €11m depending on add-ons. French U18 player Bianda made nine first team appearances for Lens in Ligue 2 last season. He takes the number 28 shirt at Roma, which was vacated by Lukasz Skorupski earlier this month. Bianda told the club's official website: “I am happy to be here. Roma are a very big club. “I’m sure this is the right choice for me, for my progression and for this next stage of my career.” He becomes the third defender to be signed by Roma this summer, following the arrivals of Ivan Marcano and Davide Santon.

Roma have completed the marquee signing of PSG attacking midfielder Javier Pastore.
The decorated 29-year-old signs a five-year contract with Roma and will wear the number 27 shirt. Roma have paid PSG €24.7m to sign Pastore, who returns to Italy after seven years in Paris. He previously spent two years in Serie A with Palermo before making the switch to France. Pastore has won 19 trophies in his career - all with PSG - and is a 29-time Argentina international. The right-footer is expected to be used in central midfield for Roma in Eusebio Di Francesco's 4-3-3 system. Roma sporting director Monchi hailed Pastore as possibly the most gifted player he has ever signed. He told asroma.com: “In my career as a sporting director I have signed a lot of players, but Javier might just be the one with the most talent.” Upon his arrival, Pastore said: "I am very happy to be here at Roma. "It is great to return to Italy, and to do it with such a great club. "I hope to repay in full all the enthusiasm, support and affection that Roma fans have shown me already." Benvenuto, Javier. Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan has been sold to Inter Milan.
The combative midfield dynamo moves to the San Siro for €38m, with Roma entitled to a 10% sell-on clause. Nainggolan was a popular figure at Roma having made over 200 appearances in a four-and-a-half year spell. After joining from Cagliari in the 2014 January transfer window, he went on to amass 33 goals for the club. As part of the deal, Inter duo Davide Santon and Nicolo Zaniolo have joined Roma. Nainggolan has signed a four-year contract at Inter, where he will be reunited with former Roma coach Luciano Spalletti. Grazie, Radja. Roma have confirmed the arrivals of Davide Santon and Nicolo Zaniolo from Inter.
The pair have signed long-term contracts with the club, with Santon committing his future to Roma until 2022, and Zaniolo signing until 2023. Santon is a right-footed full-back who primarily plays on the left-hand side, and will provide much-needed cover for Aleksandar Kolarov. He has spent seven seasons at Inter across two spells, and has gained eight caps at international level for Italy. He signs for a fee of €9.5m. Meanwhile, 18-year-old Zaniolo joins for €4.5m, with Inter retaining a sell-on clause. The young attacking midfielder will wear the number 22 shirt for Roma. Benvenuto, Davide e Nicolo. Roma have confirmed the sale of Lukasz Skorupski to Bologna.
The 27-year-old moves to Bologna for €9m plus bonuses, with Roma retaining a sell-on clause to take a share of the profits if Skorupski is later sold by his new club. Antonio Mirante has moved the other way, signing a three-year deal with Roma and adding a wealth of experience to the club’s goalkeeping department. Skorupski made 16 appearances for Roma after joining in 2013 - six of which came in Serie A - and will now get the opportunity to play as often as he feels he deserves at Bologna. Grazie, Lukasz. Roma have made their fifth signing of the summer and second signing of the day, as the arrival of Antonio Mirante from Bologna was confirmed.
The experienced goalkeeper signs a three-year contract after a €4m fee was agreed. Mirante has played for Juventus, Sampdoria and Parma during his distinguished career, as well as having loan spells with Crotone and Siena. The 34-year-old will add crucial experience to the club and should excel as a backup goalkeeper. “Becoming a Roma player is a proud moment for me,” he told the club’s website. “It was something that I really wanted – this is the right moment in my career and I think it will be a great step for me.” He follows Justin Kluivert to Roma, after the young winger signed from Ajax earlier today. Benvenuto, Antonio. Roma have signed highly-rated forward Justin Kluivert from Ajax on a five-year deal.
The 19-year-old winger joins for a fee of €17.25m plus bonuses. Kluivert, son of Dutch legend Patrick, is one of Europe’s most sought-after young players. He scored 10 goals in 30 appearances for the Eredivisie club last season. He will be looking to transfer his goalscoring form across to his new club, who admittedly have been over-reliant on Edin Dzeko to get the goals over the past twelve months. Kluivert told the club’s website of his delight at having signed. “I’m feeling great,” he said. “I’m at an unbelievable club and I can’t wait to start. “I think Roma is a great club for me - I think they can build me into a bigger, stronger player and I can do some nice things here.” Roma beat the likes of Manchester United and Barcelona to the youngster’s signature. Kluivert mainly plays as a left winger but can operate anywhere across the front line. Benvenuto, Justin. Chelsea are preparing to pay the €38m release clause in Kostas Manolas' contract, according to reports.
Manolas has spent the past four seasons at Roma and recently signed an extension until 2022, but the new deal included the relatively low release clause. Premier League side Chelsea are considering activating the release clause, according to SportItalia, as they prepare for Maurizio Sarri's potential arrival as manager. Manolas wants to take a few days to consider his options before deciding on a move. If he went to Chelsea, he would reunite with former Roma centre-back partner Antonio Rudiger. The Blues are prepared to offer the 27-year-old a salary of €5m-per-year. Another popular Roma player, Radja Nainggolan, is even closer to an exit. The Belgian midfielder is expected to join Inter soon in a deal that will see Davide Santon and Nicolo Zaniolo join Roma from the Nerazzuri. It appears that the move is against Nainggolan's wishes, but he is set to seal the €24m switch in the coming days. Finally, experienced goalkeeper Antonio Mirante is in Rome for medicals ahead of a proposed switch from Bologna. Mirante will join in a swap deal that will see Lukasz Skorupski go the other way. Skorupski will become the second Roma player to join Bologna in recent days, after young defender Arturo Calabresi signed a four-year contract with the side. Roma forward Marco Tumminello has completed a permanent switch to Serie A side Atalanta.
Tumminello is a graduate of Roma’s academy system and made two substitute appearances for the first team. He spent last season on loan at Crotone, scoring three goals from nine appearances in an injury-hit year. Now, he moves to Atalanta for a fee of €5m. Roma have retained a two-year buyback clause on the 19-year-old. He can be re-signed for €13m at the end of next season, or for €15m at the end of the season after. If Atalanta sell him to any other club for more than €5m, Roma will receive half of the profits. Good luck, Marco. Antonio Mirante could move to Roma in a swap deal with Lukasz Skorupski, according to reports.
Gianluca Di Marzio claims that Roma and Bologna are in talks to swap the two goalkeepers, with Roma also receiving a fee. Skorupski spent most of last season on the bench at Roma and has made clear his desire to play more, and it seems increasingly likely that this will be away from the club. Bologna are one of several clubs interested in the Polish shot-stopper, who missed out on a place in his country’s World Cup squad, and are willing to offer Mirante plus €5m in return. Former Parma keeper Mirante has played in Serie A for the majority of his career, and at the age of 34, would probably be happy to sit on the bench whilst a younger keeper played as first choice - at least, more so than 27-year-old Skorupski. The swap could be completed within the next week or so, with neither keeper affected by World Cup participation. Di Marzio states that Mirante will undergo a medical tomorrow, and will sign a three-year contract at the club. |
