The Latest AS Roma News
Antonio Mirante could move to Roma in a swap deal with Lukasz Skorupski, according to reports.
Gianluca Di Marzio claims that Roma and Bologna are in talks to swap the two goalkeepers, with Roma also receiving a fee. Skorupski spent most of last season on the bench at Roma and has made clear his desire to play more, and it seems increasingly likely that this will be away from the club. Bologna are one of several clubs interested in the Polish shot-stopper, who missed out on a place in his country’s World Cup squad, and are willing to offer Mirante plus €5m in return. Former Parma keeper Mirante has played in Serie A for the majority of his career, and at the age of 34, would probably be happy to sit on the bench whilst a younger keeper played as first choice - at least, more so than 27-year-old Skorupski. The swap could be completed within the next week or so, with neither keeper affected by World Cup participation. Di Marzio states that Mirante will undergo a medical tomorrow, and will sign a three-year contract at the club.
