Roma Women have completed their second signing of the day by bringing in Tecla Pettenuzzo.
The 19-year-old defender arrives after Camelia Ceaser was signedfrom Milan earlier in the morning. Pettenuzzo, an Italy Under-19 international teammate of Giada Greggi and Angelica Soffia, played in every match for Sassuolo last season, and has played in the Champions League for Brescia in the past. Benvenuta, Tecla.
Roma Women have signed Romanian international goalkeeper Camelia Ceaser to provide competition for Rosalia Pipitone.
Ceaser, who arrives from AC Milan, has become the club's sixth signing of the summer. She follows her former teammate Manuela Giugliano to the club, after the midfielder was added earlier in July. The 21-year-old keeper has previously played for Torino and Brescia, making 88 appearances in Serie A Femminile to date. She has won eight trophies in her blossoming career, all with Brescia, and will be keen to add to her collection. Last season, Roma's first choice keeper was Italy international Pipitone, who was an unused member of the Azzurre's World Cup squad this summer. Now, the 33-year-old will have someone to keep her on her toes in the goalkeeping department. Benvenuta, Camelia.
Roma Women have completed the signing of midfielder Andrine Hegerberg, who last played for Paris Saint-Germain.
The Norwegian is the elder sister of reigning Ballon D'Or holder Ada Hegerberg, and becomes the fifth signing of the summer for Betty Bavagnoli's side so far. Hegerberg, aged 26, has previously played for Birmingham City, as well as several Scandinavian sides, while she has 30 caps for Norway - although, like her sister, she has not played for them since 2017. Hegerberg said via Twitter: "Finally I can tell you all that this season I have chosen to play for Roma. "I cannot wait to meet you all and get started."
Meanwhile, one midfielder on her way out will be Flaminia Simonetti, who has confirmed via Instagram that she is set for a new adventure. Reports have indicated that her departure will just be a loan. She wrote: "I would like to thank sincerely all the people who have supported me and accompanied me in this long year. "That with Roma is a love story that stops for a while. "A new adventure awaits me, a new stimulus, a growth away from this city, which can allow me to prepare myself to face new challenges."
Welcome, Andrine, and good luck, Flaminia.
English-born defender Emma Lipman has announced her departure from Roma Women.
Lipman, 30, was Roma's most-used centre-back in their first season, but has now wished her former teammates good luck ahead of a new adventure. "Thanks a lot for the opportunity," she wrote on Instagram. "Proud to pull on the shirt and be a Romanista for the very first year. "Good luck for the new season all." In total, Lipman made 17 appearances in Serie A Femminile with Roma, scoring one goal. She gave an exclusive interview to Giallorossi Yorkshire at the start of 2019 - part one and part two can be found here. Good luck, Emma!
Roma Women have announced the latest addition to their squad ahead of the upcoming season - Italy international Manuela Giugliano.
The club have been chasing the 21-year-old midfielder for quite some time, and were finally able to confirm her on Tuesday. Giugliano arrives from AC Milan, with whom she finished third in Serie A Femminile last season, and has also played in the top flight for the likes of Mozzanica, Brescia and Verona - where she played with current Roma defenders Angelica Soffia and Federico Di Criscio. At Mozzanica, she was a teammate of Roma captain Elisa Bartoli. She played in all five games for Italy at this summer's World Cup, where the Azzurre reached the quarter-finals before being knocked out by the Netherlands. "We will see each other very soon at Stadio Tre Fontane, because from next season I will have the great honour of wearing the Roma colours," Giugliano said via the club's Twitter account. "I am sure you will show your support for us, we’re hoping to see a lot of you next season. Forza Roma!"
Danish striker Amalie Thestrup has become Roma Women's third new signing of the summer.
Thestrup, 24, arrives from Ballerup-Skovlunde Fodbold in her home country, for whom she was the top scorer last season with an impressive 17 goals in 24 games. In the season before, she scored 15 times. She has also previously played for Brondby, where she won two league titles. Thestrup's arrival accommodates for the departure of Martina Piemonte, who joined Real Betis on Monday. Via the club's Twitter page, Thestrup said: "I can't wait to move to [this] beautiful city and start the new season with AS Roma." Benvenuto, Amalie.
Martina Piemonte has left Roma Women to join Real Betis.
The 21-year-old Italian striker leaves having scored three goals in 17 league games for the Giallorosse, and returns to Spain having previously played for Betis’ cross-city rivals Sevilla. Piemonte has agreed a deal with Betis until 2021. Good luck, Martina.
Roma Women have completed the signing of attacker Andressa Alves, who arrives after a spell at Barcelona.
Andressa is a vastly experienced Brazil international, making 84 appearances for the national side in total - the most recent coming at this summer's Women's World Cup. The 26-year-old, who is left-footed, can play anywhere across the attacking line, and becomes the first Brazilian to ever play for the women's side. She spent the last three years at Barcelona, where she finished as the top scorer in the 2017-18 season. Andressa is certainly an exciting acquisition as the squad begins to take shape, following the arrival of versatility player Kaja Erzen earlier today. They could soon be followed by Italy international Manuela Giugliano, who has confirmed she is leaving Milan.
Benvenuto, Andressa.
Roma Women have completed the signing of Kaja Erzen from fellow Serie A Femminile side Tavagnacco.
Erzen, a 24-year-old Slovenian midfielder, becomes the first new arrival of the summer, as Roma look to build upon their fourth place finish last year. Erzen has played in all 44 league games for Tavagnacco since joining from Olimpija Ljublijana in her homeland two years ago. Last season, she scored against Roma in the first meeting between the two sides, a 2-2 draw at Stadio Tre Fontane. It was the first of four goals she scored throughout the campaign. A versatile player, Erzen can operate as a full-back, winger or central midfielder. Benvenuto, Kaja. |
