The Latest AS Roma News
Former Roma head coach Rudi Garcia has claimed the club were wrong to remove Eusebio Di Francesco from his post.
Di Francesco was sacked as Roma coach on Thursday, partway through a difficult season which has seen the Giallorossi knocked out of the Champions League and Coppa Italia, with the bid for a top four place in jeapordy. Garcia - who in 2016 was the last manager to be sacked mid-season by Roma before Di Francesco - has hit out at the club's decision to part company with the former Sassuolo boss. He said: "Some have a short memory and it’s shameful to send Di Francesco away. “If you manage to take your team to the Champions League semi-finals, it means you are a good coach. Unfortunately, at Roma more than at any other club, there is a lack of patience and a pretty short memory. “Eusebio would certainly have done great things with Roma if he had been given more time."
