The Latest AS Roma News
Roma have confirmed the arrival of new goalkeeper Pau Lopez from Real Betis.
Lopez, who takes the number 13 shirt, is expected to become the first choice keeper, replacing the disappointing Robin Olsen. Roma have paid €23.5m for the 24-year-old, who has put pen to paper on a contract until 2024. A one-cap Spain international, the former Espanyol and Spurs man will experience Italian football for the first time. Lopez, who completed his medical on Monday, admitted to Roma’s official website that it was “basically impossible to say no” to the chance of joining. “This is a big step forward for me in my career,” he added. “I am delighted by the confidence this great club has shown in me; I feel ready to take on this exciting challenge.” Lopez kept 10 clean sheets in La Liga last season as Betis came 10th. Benvenuto, Pau.
