The Latest AS Roma News
Roma team manager Morgan De Sanctis has suggested that Roma could try to sign Davide Zappacosta permanently next summer, while clarifying why the full-back has only joined on an initial six-month loan.
Zappacosta joined Roma on Wednesday, with the Giallorossi having the option to extend his loan until the end of the season - although there is no mention of an official option to buy. Nonetheless, former goalkeeper De Sanctis has told reporters that Zappacosta is likely to stay at Roma beyond six months. “Zappacosta is on loan for six months, with an automatic renewal until June 2020 if exceptional conditions relating to Chelsea’s transfer ban don’t arrive,” De Sanctis said at an introductory press conference for the former Torino man and fellow new arrival Mert Cetin. “These conditions are a precaution on Chelsea’s part, since they cannot sign any new players. “He’s an important player and therefore we accepted these precautions which, however, aren’t particularly significant. “The player will stay here for a year and prove his worth. After that, considerations will be made in June 2020.”
