The Latest AS Roma News
Former Roma manager Fabio Capello has urged the club not to sack present head coach Eusebio Di Francesco, despite the mounting pressure on the 49-year-old.
Di Francesco is under intense scrutiny after losing the Derby Della Capitale at the weekend and seeing Roma fall out of the Champions League at the hands of Porto. However, Capello - the last man to lead Roma to the Serie A title - has suggested that Di Francesco should be given until the end of the season at least. He told Sky Sport Italia: "Di Francesco deserves to finish the season. "No-one works miracles and there's not much time between now and the end of the season. "I hope Roma don't appoint a new coach because Di Francesco was my player and I hope he'll stay on for the rest of the season and gets the wins he deserves because he's a sincere and prepared person. "Like De Rossi said, in the next two games, which seem easy on paper, the team must show they're playing for him. They need six points."
