1998 – Francesco Totti scored a brace in a 4-0 win over Udinese, on the day he became official club captain. Eusebio Di Francesco and Paulo Sergio scored the other Giallorossi goals, as Roma continued their 100% winning record in home league games that season into a fourth match. In fact, Roma only tasted Serie A defeat at Stadio Olimpico once across the entire campaign, to Inter in early May. Totti inherited the captaincy from Aldair, becoming the youngest ever official captain of a Serie A side, a record which stands to this day. Aged 22 at the time, he emerged as the eternal symbol for the club, wearing the armband until his retirement in 2017. Also:
2017 – Roma played Premier League champions Chelsea off the park in a 3-0 Champions League win. Stephan El Shaarawy scored a brace, before Diego Perotti completed the scoring. 2015 – Miralem Pjanic was sent off as Roma lost 1-0 to Inter. 2013 – Rudi Garcia led Roma to a tenth straight win in Serie A, with Marco Borriello scoring in a 1-0 victory against Chievo. 2012 – Roma lost 3-2 for a second successive league game, this time against Parma. Erik Lamela and Francesco Totti scored Roma’s goals. 2007 – Roma beat Lazio 3-2 in the Derby Della Capitale. Mirko Vucinic, Mancini and Simone Perrotta scored for Luciano Spalletti’s team. 2006 – Francesco Totti scored an equaliser in a 1-1 Champions League group stage draw with Olympiacos. 2004 – Roma beat Cagliari 5-1. Traianos Dellas and Francesco Totti gave Roma an early advantage, with Simone Perrotta adding a third before a late Vincenzo Montella brace. 1999 – First half goals from Vincenzo Montella and Zago weren’t enough to beat Cagliari, with the game finishing 2-2. 1995 – Roma advanced to the third round of the UEFA Cup after a 0-0 draw with Eendracht Aalst secured a 4-0 aggregate win. 1993 – Roma drew 0-0 with Reggiana in Serie A. 1982 – Aldo Maldera followed up a Roberto Pruzzo brace in a 3-1 win over Pisa. 1976 – Roma and Verona drew 0-0 at Stadio Olimpico. 1971 – Roma beat Inter 3-1 courtesy of strikes from Giacomo La Rosa, Renato Cappellini and Elvio Salvori. 1954 – Roma battled back from a goal down to beat Inter 2-1. Carlo Galli and Enore Boscolo scored for the Lupi. 1948 – Roma beat Genoa 1-0, through Jose Valle.
