2014 – Francesco Totti became the oldest goalscorer in Champions League history by scoring Roma’s goal in a 1-1 draw with Manchester City. Totti overtook Ryan Giggs, who had scored at the age of 37 years, nine months and 16 days. Totti was 38 years old at the time of his goal, a cute chip over Joe Hart to equalise after Sergio Aguero had put the English side ahead. The result meant Roma remained unbeaten in the group stages after two games, but they would lose three of their remaining four games, eventually placing fourth in the group. Also:

The club's all-time leading scorer, Totti was always central to the action. It's a touch surprising, in fact, that it took him that long to achieve his first ever hat trick for the club.
