2001 – Daniele De Rossi was brought on for his Roma debut as Roma finished 2nd in Group A of the Champions League with a 1-1 draw against Anderlecht. Marco Delvecchio scored the equaliser early in the second half to ensure Roma finished ahead of Lokomotiv Moscow, who beat Real Madrid on the same day. De Rossi came on for Ivan Tomic on the 71-minute mark, making the first of over 600 appearances for his only club. Francesco Totti is the only player to have represented more times than midfield general and fellow World Cup winner De Rossi. Also:

Francesco Totti was sent off in the second half. 2005 – Christian Panucci and Philippe Mexes scored in a 2-1 win over Ascoli. 2002 – Francesco Totti scored as Roma beat Real Madrid 1-0 at the Bernabeu in the Champions League group stage. 1994 – Carlo Mazzone’s Roma lost 1-0 to Parma, with Gianfranco Zola scoring for the hosts. 1991 – Ruggiero Rizzitelli scored a penalty to give Roma a 1-0 first leg advantage in the Coppa Italia Round of 16. 1988 – Roma lost 2-0 away at Inter. 1983 – Roma thrashed Napoli 5-1, with goals from Francesco Graziani, Toninho Cerezo, Falcao and a Bruno Conti brace. 1977 – Roma lost 2-0 to Napoli in an away game. 1963 – Roma advanced to the second round of the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup with a 2-0 win over Hertha Berlin in the second leg of their matchup. Goals from Jurgen Schutz and Alberto Orlando wrapped up a 5-1 aggregate win. 1955 – Roma drew 1-1 with Juventus, Adelmo Prenna scoring an equaliser. 1949 – Roma beat Torino 3-1 through Giancarlo Bacci, an own goal and Renzo Merlin, all coming in the first 12 minutes. 1938 – Roma lost 2-0 away at Modena. 1936 – Victor Benitez was born. The Peruvian midfielder had two brief spells with Roma in the 1960s, winning the 1969 Coppa Italia. 1927 – Roma suffered a second straight defeat, 3-0 to Bologna. 1906 – Ernesto Tomasi was born. The midfielder made more than 100 appearances for Roma in a spell between 1933 and 1937.
