1962 – Roma beat Real Zaragoza 4-2 in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup Round of 16 first leg. Francisco Lojacono, Pedro Manfredini, Giancarlo De Sisti and John Charles scored. Charles’ goal was the only ever goal scored for Roma by a British player in European football. Also:
2012 – Roma beat Siena 3-1, with Simone Perrotta scoring in between two goals from Mattia Destro. 2007 – Roma brat nine-man Udinese 2-1 thanks to first half goals from Juan and Rodrigo Taddei. 2006 – Francesco Totti scored two penalties to secure a 2-1 comeback win for Roma over Atalanta. 2001 – Diego Fuser scored in stoppage time to give Roma a 1-0 win over Venezia. 1990 – Rudi Voller scored a penalty as Roma drew 1-1 with Lazio. It was the first of five consecutive draws in Serie A. 1984 – Roma beat Udinese 2-1 with goals from Roberto Pruzzo and Francesco Graziani. 1979 – Agostino Di Bartolomei scored a brace to bring Roma from behind to win 2-1 against Fiorentina. 1976 – Tommaso Maestrelli died in Rome at the age of 54. He had played as a midfielder for Roma between 1948 and 1951. 1973 – Roma lost 1-0 at home to Napoli in Nils Liedholm’s first game in charge. 1956 – Gunnar Nordahl scored a brace as Roma thrashed SPAL 5-1. Luigi Giuliano, Paolo Pestrin and Dino Da Costa scored earlier. 1951 – Roma beat Salernitana 2-0, as Sune Andersson and Carlo Galli scored. 1945 – Bari beat Roma 1-0.
