1996 – Roma were knocked out of the UEFA Cup in the second round despite a 2-1 win on the night against Karlsruhe. Abel Balbo’s brace wasn’t enough to overturn the first leg deficit, as Karlsruhe had beaten Roma 3-0 in Germany. Karlsruhe were knocked out by Brondby in the next round. Also:

Nicolas Burdisso and Bojan Krkic scored for La Magica. 1995 – Daniel Fonseca’s brace led to a 2-0 win over Cagliari. 1989 – Goals from Giuseppe Giannini and Ruggiero Rizzitelli led to a 2-1 win over Lecce. 1978 – Francesco Rocca scored an own goal as Roma lost 1-0 to Catanzaro. 1967 – Giuliano Taccola’s opener was cancelled out in a 1-1 draw with Atalanta. 1961 – Roma went a goal down early on, but recovered to beat Mantova 4-2. Francisco Lojacono, Antonio Valentin Angelillo, Sergio Carpanesi and Alberto Orlando scored. 1958 – Roma lost 1-0 to Venezia in the fourth preliminary round of the Coppa Italia. 1950 – Roma and Novara played out a goalless draw. 1939 – Bari and Roma drew 0-0. 1933 – Roma lost 1-0 away at Bologna.
