1907 – Guido Masetti was born. One of the greatest goalkeepers in the club’s history, he was part of the team that won the Scudetto in 1942. Masetti joined Roma in 1930, moving from Hellas Verona. He quickly established himself as a key player, making 364 appearances in a 13-year spell. His importance to the side was recognised in 1939, when he was appointed club captain. He remains the only goalkeeper in the club's history to have held the role, and became the first player to lift the Serie A trophy as Roma captain. At international level with Italy, he won two World Cup winners medals, despite not playing a game in either the 1934 or 1938 tournaments. Masetti later had three short spells as manager of the club, in the 1940s and 50s. Only Franco Tancredi made more appearances in goal for Roma than Masetti, who died in 1993. Also:

Antonio Comi had earlier levelled the game for Roma. 1987 – Roma beat Inter 3-2 courtesy of goals from Lionello Manfredonia, Giuseppe Giannini and Stefano Desideri. 1981 – Roma gave up a 2-1 lead over Inter (acquired through goals from Roberto Pruzzo and Bruno Conti) to lose 3-2. 1970 – Roma defeated Foggia 3-1. Amarildo, Renato Cappellini and Franco Cordova scored. 1964 – Roma drew 0-0 with Mantova. 1959 – Roma beat Inter 3-1 with Paolo Pestrin, Franco Zaglio and Arne Selmosson all scoring within the first hour. 1953 – Goals from Carlo Galli, Egisto Pandolfini and Giovanni Perissinotto gave Roma a 3-1 win over Palermo. 1949 – Walter Franzot was born. The midfielder played for Roma between 1969 and 1973. 1942 – Roma lost 3-1 to Lazio. Miguel Angel Panto scored a late penalty. 1936 – Roma were thrashed 5-1 by Juventus. Fulvio Bernardini scored a penalty. 1931 – Despite taking the lead through Rodolfo Volk, Roma lost 3-1 at Fiorentina.
