GIALLOROSSI YORKSHIRE BLOG
Welcome to the first installment in a new weekly feature on Giallorossi Yorkshire: 5-a-side Friday!
Every Friday, I'll be getting in touch with one Roma fan to submit their all-time Roma 5-a-side team. The concept is simple: just pick the five Roma players, from any era, that you'd choose to make a 5-a-side team with. Formations don't matter, as long as you're sensible and don't just pick one keeper and four strikers! To get things started, here's my 5-a-side team. Tune in every Friday to see other people's selections. Name: Samuel Bannister Location: Leeds, England Team: Alisson Becker: I've chosen Alisson because of how good he has been this season. He's proving himself to be a well-rounded, world class goalkeeper, able to make impossible saves and initiate attacks with his quick thinking and distribution. Cafu: For my defender, I've gone for Cafu, because of his longevity and ability as a full back. He won practically everything in football and is a real example to follow. Rodrigo Taddei: One of the first Roma players I can remember appreciating, Taddei was technically adept and possessed skill levels some of us could only dream of. He also proved his versatility by playing in a range of different positions throughout his career. Bruno Conti: I wanted to pick one player from before I was born, and after much deliberation, I went for Conti. He was a skillful player and scored some great goals with his superb left foot. Francesco Totti: I thought about bringing a rule in to say you couldn't pick Totti, because everyone would... but I couldn't bring myself to do it! What can you say about him in a couple of sentences? He was, quite simply, a footballing genius, and is a great player to spearhead my 5-a-side team.
